Checking in on the early MWC standings

There is basically a 3-way tie for first place in the Mountain West at the moment between BYU, San Diego State and Utah.

The Aztecs are 4-2 after splitting a pair with the Cougars last weekend. Utah and BYU are both 2-1 and have had rainouts in conference play, resulting in fewer games played.

New Mexico (3-2) is alone in fourth place, ahead of UNLV (3-3) and Colorado State, which remains winless at 0-5.

In the latest RPI rankings released last week, San Diego State tops the MWC at No. 40, followed by BYU at No. 50.
