Oregon sweeps a doubleheader from Lobos

The No. 10/9 Oregon Ducks swept a doubleheader from New Mexico in Eugene Wednesday behind some stellar pitching performances.  The Lobos were held to just one hit in both games, as Oregon senior Jessica Moore and freshman Cheridan Hawkins earned victories.  Oregon won game one, 10-0 in six innings, while the Ducks captured the nightcap 4-0.  In game two, Lobos freshman left-hander Lauren Soles didn't allow a hit through the first three innings, but ran into trouble in the fourth when Oregon had six of its eight hits and scored four times.  Kaela DeBroeck took the loss in the opener, and UNM continues its trip through the Pacific Northwest on Thursday with a doubleheader against Oregon State.  The Lobos are 13-16 overall, while the Ducks improved to an impressive 23-4.

San Diego State 13, Miami-Ohio 0 (5 innings) -- After scoring 10 runs at home Tuesday in a win over Iona College, the Aztecs scored 13 Wednesday in a rout in San Diego over the RedHawks of Miami-Ohio.  Freshman pitcher Danielle O'Toole tossed a 3-hitter to improve to 6-5 on the season with the win.  The struggling RedHawks lost their ninth straight game and fell to 2-15 overall with their sixth run-rule defeat.  San Diego State got a 3-for-3 game with five RBI from Lorena Bauer, who hit a double to go along with her seventh home run of the season.  Kamerin May had a pair of hits, including a triple, while Kayla Jordan got the night started off right with a solo home run on the fourth pitch of the game for the Aztecs.   San Diego State is now 14-12 on the season with five more games left to play this week over the next three days.
