Aztecs edge cross-town rival Toreros 4-1

In Tuesday's only non-conference game featuring a Mountain West softball team, San Diego State defeated cross-town rival San Diego 4-1.

Rebecca Arbino bounced back from a weekend upset loss to UC Riverside and threw a complete-game 5-hitter.  Pitcher Grace Hernandez entered in the sixth inning for USD and took the loss, allowing three runs over the final two innings as San Diego State snapped a late 1-1 tie.

The Aztecs got three triples as part of their 8-hit attack.  Tiffany Corder, Kaitlin Connors and Kayla Jordan all had triples, and Jordan was the only San Diego State player with two hits.
