Aztecs win again, while Nevada splits Wednesday

San Diego State won its 11th straight game Wednesday, slipping past crosstown rival San Diego 3-1 on the Aztecs' home field.  All three San Diego State runs came in the bottom of the first inning when Lorena Bauer had a 2-run single and Monica Downey added an RBI single. USD also had a first inning error.  SDSU improved to 23-12 on the season, while USD fell to 17-19 after being held to four hits by Aztecs freshman Danielle O'Toole. . . . Nevada split a road doubleheader at Sacramento State Wednesday, scoring five unanswered runs in the nightcap to rally from a deficit for the 5-1 win.  The Pack lost game one to the Hornets 1-0.  Megan Dortch picked up the game two win, scattering nine hits and getting out of multiple tight spots in the contest. Sara Parsons had a 3-hit nightcap with three RBI and hit a double.  Karlyn Jones lost her third straight game in the opener, despite allowing just five hits in the complete-game effort.  Nevada's offense couldn't get going against Sacramento State pitcher Taylor Stroud, the winner in game one.  The only run in the contest scored in the second when the Hornets bunched together three hits.  Sacramento State (17-13) won two of three in the season series against the Pack (22-16).
