Bulldogs, Pack, Aztecs, Spartans reach 10 wins

Sunday concluded the weekend with five Mountain West teams still in action in the ultra-competitive Mary Nutter Classic in Palm Springs.  In the game of the day, Fresno State  pushed 2nd-ranked Tennessee (13-0) to the brink of its first loss of the season.  The Bulldogs led 4-1 before the Lady Vols rallied to tie it in the fifth.  In the bottom of the seventh, a collision between Fresno State infielders Brooke Ortiz and Whitney Smith led to a single and both players had to leave the game.  With a completely restructured team at different positions, Fresno State lost the game in the bottom of the seventh on an error.  The four runs and nine hits by the Bulldogs were the most allowed by Tennessee this season.  Also Sunday, San Jose State wrapped up play in the Bank of Hawaii Invitational, while Nevada ended its weekend at the Grand Canyon tourney.
