Fresno State blasts Nevada to remain alive

Fresno State pounded Nevada on Senior Day in Reno in a 10-1, run-rule rout in five innings to remain alive in the race for the Mountain West title.

Stesha Brazil had a pair of home runs on a 3-hit, 3-RBI, 3 runs scored day.  Paige Gumz smashed a 3-run homer of her own, and Jill Compton was one out away from a shutout when the Wolf Pack scored their lone run.

Brenna Moss had three hits, Gumz had a pair with four RBI, and Kapri Angotti had a pair of hits.  With the win, Fresno State is now the only team with a shot at the NCAA automatic bid out of the Mountain West aside from San Diego State.  The Bulldogs eliminated UNLV from contention for that automatic bid, but not the possible 4-way tie at the top for the Mountain West title.

UNLV defeated Utah State 8-0 in five innings to join Fresno State at 15-9 in the final standings.
