Thursday a day of missed opportunities as Broncos, Rebels, Wolf Pack fall

Thursday was a not-so-great beginning to the weekend for Boise State, Nevada and UNLV.  The three combined to go 0-4, losing heartbreaker after heartbreaker ... Boise State was one out away from a win over Wichita State before the Shockers strung together four consecutive hits, including a walk-off, 2-run homer for a 4-2 win.  Later in the day, Seattle posted a 4-3 win in eight innings over the Broncos, with the international tiebreak rule in effect.  The Redhawks' winning run was scored by Seattle's Rose Saenz, who spent her first two years of college at Boise State ... In Las Vegas, UNLV lost a 1-0 game to New Mexico State when the host Rebels were handcuffed by Aggies hurler Karysta Donisthorpe.  UNLV had just two singles in the game, but stayed in it as pitchers Morgan Ettinger and Kwyn Cooper got out of jam after jam. NMSU stranded14 base runners, including nine in scoring position. The Aggies left the bases loaded in each of the first three innings ... In Puerto Vallarta, Nevada saw its losing streak reach seven games with a 7-5 loss to BYU.  The game marked the fifth time this season the Pack out-hit an opponent in a loss, as Nevada had nine hits to BYU's six.  The teams combined for 14 walks and the Pack stranded 14 base runners.
