WEDNESDAY: Aztecs fall to Arizona 6-1

After losing twice in its own San Diego Classic II last weekend, San Diego State lost for the second time in as many days this week with a 6-1 setback at home to No. 17 Arizona.  The Wildcats (25-7) racked up 11 hits against Erica Romero at the SDSU Softball Stadium Wednesday.  Just like in Tuesday's 11-4 loss to UConn, the Aztecs' first run came via a solo homer by Kayla Jordan.  It would be their only run against Arizona pitcher Michelle Floyd on this night ... Also, Wednesday, Utah State and Nevada split a pair of road doubleheaders as each team won their opening game before falling in their respective nightcaps.  The Aggies beat Southern Utah 7-3 in the opener before losing 9-7 in game two.  The Wolf Pack won 6-5 in 10 innings at Sacramento State to begin the day, before suffering a 5-2 setback to the Hornets in the second game.  Noelle Johnson (Utah State) and McKenna Isenberg (Nevada) picked up pitching wins.
