WEDNESDAY: Mountain West teams win 2 of 3 non-conference games

In non-conference action Wednesday, Colorado State and San Jose State picked up victories at home, while Utah State fell in Logan. The Rams bounced back from an 0-3 weekend with a 6-0 victory over Northern Colorado.  Trinity Harrington tossed a complete-game 2-hitter for CSU, which improved to 19-16 overall.  Danielle Wikre hit a 3-run home run and Savannah Clark had a double and two RBI for the Rams.  In the Spartans' win over Pacific, eight walks were issued in the first two innings and SJSU used a 6-run second to take control.  Jessica Madrid had a 3-run double and Jessie Hufstetler a 3-run home run for the Spartans' two extra-base hits in a 12-hit attack that featured 10 singles.  UOP had seven hits against three San Jose State (23-11) pitchers, but the Tigers stranded eight, including five in the first two innings.  Also, Wednesday, Utah State suffered a 3rd straight setback, losing a 13-3 run-rule affair to Idaho State in Logan.  Sarah Chow had two hits and Jordyn McCracken pitched two innings of scoreless relief for the Aggies, who dropped to 9-20.
