The Bulldogs jumped three spots in the RPI to No. 18, its highest position of the season.  Additionally, it's the highest RPI for a Mountain West team since the implementation of the RPI as a tool used by the NCAA.  It's also the highest RPI ranking for a Bulldog softball team since the 2008 season when Fresno State was a member of the WAC.

In 2008, a No. 17 RPI earned the Bulldogs an NCAA regional host spot and one of 16 national seeds in the NCAA Tournament.

In the new Top 25 rankings, Fresno State moved up two spots to No. 17 in the College Sports Madness poll, up three spots to No. 20 in the USA Today/NFCA coaches poll, and up three spots to No. 22 in the ESPN.com/USA Softball poll.  Fresno State has been ranked in all 10 weekly Top 25 polls by the NFCA this season.

The Bulldogs shared the largest leap of the week in the coaches poll with 12th-ranked Tennessee, a team Fresno State defeated 7-3 earlier this season.  The Bulldogs had the second-biggest leap of the week among teams in the ESPN.com poll.

In other news Tuesday, the conference named Jill Compton of Fresno State and Chelsea Johnson of New Mexico the Mountain West Pitcher and Player of the Week for their performances last weekend.  Johnson had 10 RBI and three home runs as UNM took two games at Colorado State.  Compton went 2-0 as Fresno State swept Utah State, improving her record in Mountain West play to 9-0 with a 2-hitter in the series finale.
